Fortune Teller

Beauty in the mirror
Cracked a little joke
About a Fortune Teller
His leg caught in a spoke
Who fell upon the pavement
Which took away his teeth
And left him looking ugly
In a pool of grief
‘If he knew the future’,
She said with a smile,
‘He would have missed the object
By a bloody mile’
Beauty came of age
Lines began to run
Flesh crept over flesh
Her nightmare had begun
The Fortune Teller whispered
Deep inside her ear
‘You’re a sight more ugly
Than I shall ever be my dear
I could have told your fortune
That your face would crack
You would live in misery
And have a heart attack
The spoke that I tripped on
Was made by fortune’s fool
Yours was made by nature
Which is far more bloody cruel’
