Pen and paper

Had an affair

Not that it mattered

For nobody cared

They wrote of their love

Expressed from their heart

To be together

And never to part

The ink on the paper

Was hardly dry

When pen in a state

Started to cry

He loved the hand

Who fondled his body

Made him feel warm

But now he felt shoddy

Paper all wet

Wailed her lament

She had left her desk

For pen’s content

In a matter of moments

She ripped herself up

Pen without speaking

Absorbed in his cups

Into the bin

Paper flew in a rage

The words of their love

Creased on the page

Pen thought for awhile

Then gave a big grin

There’s plenty of paper

So now I’ll begin

The truth of the matter

Let it be told

Pen is the master

For paper will fold
